Yeah, I know this is not a Southeastern Michigan car…not even close. It’s a hot rod from Virginia. But, I could not pass it up when I saw it at the 2007 Detroit Autorama. At least it’s not from California.

This roadster was built by Bob Bateman of Roanoke, Virginia 1956 and raced until 1960 when it was changed into a show car. It was actively shown until 1965 and then retired. Some 40 years later the car was pulled out into the sunlight and purchased in 2003 by Roddy and Sally Moore of Ferrum, Virginia. They did a great job of restoring this historic show car to its former glory.
