| Author and photographer Robert Genat sent these great photos. Robert writes...
"The black 57 Chevy was mine. I owned that car from 63 65. The photo was taken in the driveway of our house in Allen Park. It didnt have FI. All I could afford was the emblems. It did have a 283 with an AFB, three-speed with Hurst shifter and a 4.11 gear. I bought it from the original owners brother. It had been sitting for several years with a cracked block. It was located off Michigan Ave just outside of Dearborn. We towed it home and I found a 62 283 and converted it from auto to stick. I also threw away a perfect set of full wheel covers that had never been on the car. When the original owner took delivery he told the salesman not to put the wheel covers on the car.
The 32 five-window is one of my all time favorite shots. It was taken at Detroit Dragway in 1960. Ive ask a lot of people if they knew the car but no one does. It has a very distinctive peaked grille shell.
The Vargo car is the Vargo car. I think they were shot in Melvindale."
